Confused about BVD?
Bovine Viral Diarrhoea has been recorded in about 80% of New Zealand herds, and at any one time 15% of dairy herds have an active infection.
The costs of an active BVD infection in the herd include decreased milk production and reproductive performance, estimated to be worth $148 per animal in the herd per year.
The disease is complicated, but Clutha Vets, in association with Intervet Schering Plough is pleased to bring you an opportunity to learn more and have your questions answered.
John Pickering, a practicing vet from Wanganui and the head of the “Control BVD” group, will be speaking at the South Otago Town and Country Club, Yarmouth Street, Balclutha at 4.30pm on Wednesday 29th July 2009. His presentation will be followed by a complementary meal. Places are limited to two per farm. We will run courtesy buses from and back to the Taieri via Milton and from Clinton via Clydevale.
To book your places at the function (limit 2 per farm) email us on
